The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, announces "Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass" on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 8 p.m. Tickets, $49.50 and $37.50, go on sale Friday, July 12, at 10 a.m.

WBFO-FM 88.7 presents a riveting look into "This American Life," the public radio show that continues to push the boundaries of broadcast journalism. For one night only, join Ira Glass - radio pioneer, host, and creator of "This American Life" - as he recreates the sound of the show right in front of the audience by mixing live onstage stories with pre-taped quotes and music, while also featuring a "best of" segment from the series' funniest moments.

"Mr. Glass is a journalist, but also a storyteller who filters his interviews and impressions through a distinctive literary imagination, an eccentric intelligence, and a sympathetic heart," wrote the New York Times.

Under Glass's editorial direction, "This American Life" has received several Peabody and DuPont-Columbia awards. The show premiered on Chicago's public radio station WBEZ in 1995 and is now heard on more than 500 public radio stations each week by more than 1.7 million listeners.

Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts Box Office (weekdays) and tickets.com. To charge tickets by phone, call 1-888-223-6000. For more information, call 716-645-2787 or visit www.ubcfa.org.
