The Great Lakes Seaway Trail has been named a RoadRUNNER Magazine "Bucket List Road" for great motorcycle rides.

The motorcycle touring and travel magazine cites the expansive views of lakes Erie and Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, the 1000 Islands, Niagara Falls, historic sites and birdwatching among the virtues of riding the 518-mile Great Lakes Seaway Trail National Scenic Byway on two motorized wheels.

RoadRUNNER reviewer James T. Parks said he considers the Great Lakes Seaway Trail leisure motoring route alongside the freshwater shoreline of New York and Pennsylvania an easy ride and worthy of a three- to five-day stay.

Specific sites of interest noted by Parks include lighthouses, War of 1812 historic sites, the Seaway Trail Discovery Center, Boldt Castle, Old Fort Niagara, and the Antique Boat Museum.

Notable motorcycle events on the Great Lakes Seaway Trail byway in the summer of 2013 include the July 18-20 Roar on the Shore in Erie, Pa., with thousands of bikes forming a caravan through the city streets to find musical entertainment and food at Perry Square and other venues; and the Aug. 23-25 North East National Rib Fest motorcycle show in North East, Pa.

RoadRUNNER magazine, published in Winston-Salem, N.C., began serving the American and international motorcycling communities with information on exciting and picturesque destinations and product details to enhance the riding experience in 2001.
