Over the past two years, the Crossborder Crew of volunteers and corporate sponsors, Sevenson Environmental and Atwal Eye Care have raised funds for many local youth and recreation programs in Wilson. A portion of these proceeds were also used to create a maritime heritage trail that was unveiled Memorial Day weekend. The trail incorporates history with navigational skills to wrap hikers around the harbor, through the village and back to the Lake Ontario information center.
This project serves the community in both an educational and tourism aspect and is another addition to summer recreation in Wilson. Pictured, the Crossborder Crew unveils the Wilson Maritime Trail at the first Mooring Post outside the Wilson House Inn. (photo by Wayne Peters)
