Job fair set for Thursday, June 20, in Niagara Falls

More than 300 new full- and part-time jobs are coming to Western New York with Seneca Casinos, with an urgent need for immediate hiring. To fill the positions, Seneca Gaming Corp. will host a job fair on Thursday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the hotel mezzanine at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel.

Most positions will be based at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel in Niagara Falls, which is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary. More than 100 opportunities are available with the table games department. Experienced table games dealers are encouraged to apply, but all interested in becoming dealers should attend the job fair. For successful candidates, a dealer school will begin the following week on June 24.

Other positions in Niagara Falls are available in the following areas: food and beverage team members (servers, hosts, runners, cashiers, banquet servers, bartenders, beverage servers, Tim Hortons Café and Bake Shop attendants, snack bar attendants); entertainment team members (event representatives, production services specialists and technicians); security officers; cage cashiers; count team clerks; public area attendants; guest room attendants; and information technology support technicians.

Prospective employees are encouraged to bring copies of a resume, dress professionally and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews. Team members of Seneca Gaming Corp. receive generous benefits, such as access to a free team dining room and fitness center, both open 24 hours a day. The progressive company has many additional healthy initiatives, such as diabetes prevention and smoking cessation programs, as well as a newly opened health office with services offered free-of-charge and no need for co-payments or insurance.

Nearly all of the 500 new positions for the all-new Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in downtown Buffalo are now filled. However, a few dozen remaining positions will be available at the job fair.

Construction at the facility is ongoing, and an opening is slated for later this summer. Buffalo's newest entertainment destination will include 808 slot machines, 18 table games, a central meeting space called Stixx Sports Bar and two restaurants - BC Café and Buffalo Savors, an eatery with popular Western New York foods from local vendors. A parking garage, surface lot parking and valet service will also be available.

Seneca Gaming Corp. also continues to have success hiring local workers through its participation in the region-wide "Hire Buffalo and WNY" initiative. Since Jan. 1, 30 City of Buffalo residents, 29 Erie County residents, 59 City of Niagara Falls residents and 21 Niagara County residents have begun work throughout Seneca Casino properties. Another 79 people through "Hire Buffalo and WNY" are signed on to begin working shortly at Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino, as well as an additional 72 people for Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel.
