Obit: David G. Ziehm

David G. Ziehm, age 59, loving son, brother and uncle, passed away on April 25, 2013.

David was born to Chester and Rosemarie Ziehm on Feb. 2, 1954, in Frankfort, Germany. David spent the majority of his life living on Grand Island. After attending Albany State University, David returned home to Grand Island.

His entire career he worked in the family business as a real estate agent and broker. He had a love for German history, enjoyed reading, music, outdoors, fishing and learning about other cultures. David was a member of the Grand Island Rotary Club. One of his fondest memories was the year he spent as a foreign exchange student in Europe. David will be especially remembered for his amazing storytelling, his quirky sense of humor, and his kind, gentle heart.

Survivors include his brothers William (wife Lucille), John (wife Paula), and sister Marion Wendt (husband Douglas). He also has many nieces and nephews who along with friends will greatly miss him.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, May 25, at 1 p.m. at Bible Fellowship Center, 1136 Baseline Road, Grand Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials in David's memory can be made to the Bible Fellowship Center.
