The Friends of the Youngstown Free Library will host its annual "Desserts and Wine in the Stacks" fundraiser on Friday, April 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Youngstown Free Library, 240 Lockport St. The event is suitable for adults and children.

Single-serve desserts, wine and appetizers will decorate tables throughout the library stacks. In the children's room, punch and kid-friendly gummy desserts will be offered. The featured samplings come from recipes found in books at the library.

"We look forward to opening the library doors to the community for an evening of socialization and food sampling," said Friends President Charlotte Clark. "Attending 'Desserts in the Stacks' is a fun way to support the library and raise money to help its future."

Tickets for the event are available at the library and cost $8 for 10 in advance, or $10 for 10 that evening. Desserts and appetizers cost one ticket each. Wine costs two tickets.

The Friends of the Youngstown Free Library has a membership of about 300 and is run by a board of directors. Members meet every third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Youngstown Free Library.
