The Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas is hosting the 2013 TNT Expo this weekend, Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Student Alumni Center, 405 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda.

The Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas has been hosting this biennial trade show for more than 25 years. The chamber and the event's co-chairs, Cindy Burkett of M&T Bank North Tonawanda, and Phyllis Gentner of DeGraff Memorial Hospital and David Duke of Duke Financial, have collaborated with the North Tonawanda School District this year to expand their event.

The two-day event is free to the public, and several door prizes and giveaways will be awarded. More than 100 companies will be represented at the trade show. The grand prize of the event is a weekend getaway to New York City, courtesy of Horizon Club Tours.

Joyce Santiago, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas estimates the show sees between 6,000 and 8,000 attendees every year, and she expects this year to be no different.

"The expo is a great way to learn about new products and services people may not have known about before," says Santiago. The show is designed to get people out to see different businesses and companies from both Tonawanda and North Tonawanda all in one convenient place.

"There is something for everyone, from home improvement to beauty supplies," Santiago said. Additional companies and organizations at the event will cover health and wellness, financial, pet care, computer and technology, restaurants and banquet facilities, cultural organizations, community organizations and newspapers. There will also be retail shopping at the event, including jewelry, accessories, olive oil, coffee beans, gifts, cosmetics and more.

This event is perfect for the whole family. The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northtowns will be setting up a kids fun area and area schools will be offering concessions. Little Caesars is working with one of the clubs and will be unveiling their newest product at the show. Non-perishable food donations will be accepted for the InterChurch Food Pantry and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 77.
