Barbara Griesmann, clinic supervisor at the Monsignor Carr Institute, spoke at all the masses at St. Stephen R.C. Church last Sunday about the annual Catholic Charities Drive. The drive is ongoing now and ends on Palm Sunday, March 24.

This year's goal is $10,700,000 and the patron is Blessed Frederic Ozanam, founder of the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Griesmann said that Catholic Charities assisted more than 134,000 people last year in the eight counties of Western New York in many ways, including counseling and health care. She said that giving helps the less fortunate and research has shown that it can also make one feel good.

Contributions can be made at the Sunday Masses or by contacting the rectory at 716-773-7647.
