After 17 years on the air at WGRZ, and 25 years in radio and television in Western New York, Pete Gallivan is trading in his microphone and camera. He has accepted a job in government, outside of television.

Being in one place for 17 years gives one a chance to do a lot of things, and that's exactly what Gallivan has done here. He came to Channel 2 as a reporter, then was a weekend anchor, then the co-anchor of "Daybreak" for 11 years. He then returned to reporting, where his franchise "Unknown Stories of WNY" earned him accolades that include a regional Murrow, a New York State Associated Press award, and an Emmy.
