The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present Boz Scaggs on Tuesday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, located at the Center for the Arts, North Campus.

The performance is sponsored in part by Towne BMW and A Best Inc.

Boz Scaggs and his band will make their first appearance at the Center for the Arts. Scaggs will perform the best known songs of his career, including "Lido Shuffle" and "Lowdown," as well as choice cuts from his newest album, "Memphis," his first studio release in five years.

A casual listen to the Boz Scaggs discography makes one thing obvious: He is both a musical seeker and a man of sizable talent as a singer, songwriter and guitarist. Born in Texas and raised with an abiding respect for a wide spectrum of American roots music, his Grammy Award-winning explorations in blues, R&B, rock and jazz have produced lasting work and a career that has spanned more than 30 years.

In addition to his Grammy Award for Best R&B Song, "Lowdown," off 1976's multi-platinum "Silk Degrees," Scaggs has had an unprecedented career full of accolades and honors. He first achieved fame in the 1960s as a guitarist and occasional lead singer in the Steve Miller Band, and continues to work with contemporaries Donald Fagen and Michael McDonald in their project, The Dukes of September.

Tickets for Boz Scaggs are $67, $57, $47 and $37. They are available at the Center Box Office (weekdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.) and tickets.com. To charge tickets call 1-888-223-6000.
