March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

To help promote the importance of colorectal cancer screening, the Cancer Services Program of Niagara County will be at each hospital in Niagara County in March providing colorectal cancer risk assessments.

Offered will be a six-question form to be completed by the participant. Recommendations will be made based on the person's answers. Educational materials will be available.

Free in-home colon cancer screening kits will be available to uninsured men and women ages 50 to 64.

The program will run from 9 to 11 a.m.:

•Monday, March 4, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, 445 Tremont St., North Tonawanda;

•Thursday, March 7, Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center, 5300 Military Road, Lewiston;

•Wednesday, March 13, at Summit Healthplex, 6934 Williams Road, Wheatfield;

•Thursday, March 14, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, 621 10th St., Niagara Falls;

•Tuesday, March 19, at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, 521 East Ave., Lockport; and

•Thursday, March 21, Eastern Niagara Hospital, Newfane, 2600 William St., Newfane.
