The dates for the "On the Edge Poetry" series at Niagara County Community College have been announced for the spring semester.

Poets will present readings and visit classes as part of the NCCC 50th anniversary celebration.

The free poetry readings are scheduled for Thursday, March 14, and Thursday, April 11. Both readings will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Small Dining Room, G Building (Room G-211) on the NCCC Sanborn campus, 3111 Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn. There will be a book signing and reception immediately following the readings. The events are free and open to the public.

On March 14, E.R. Baxter III, an NCCC professor emeritus of English, will present his poetry. Baxter has been a fellow of a New York State Creative Service Award for fiction and a recipient of a Just Buffalo Award for Fiction. His publications include "Niagara Digressions," "Looking for Niagara" and the chapbooks "And Other Poems," "A Good War," "Hunger" and "What I Want."

Poet and writer Jim Daniels will present on April 11. Daniels' recent books include "Trigger Man: More Tales of the Motor City," "Having a Little Talk with Capital P Poetry" and "All of the Above."
