"Home Is Where The Art Is," a fundraising event for the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, will feature a basket raffle, and art auction on Sunday afternoon, March 10. Organizers said they hope to have 200 baskets and fine art pieces. They are looking for contributed fine art, art prints, company gift cards, gift certificates and/or gift baskets

The NACC is Niagara Falls' only arts and cultural center and home to 70-plus rent-paying artists, musicians and craftsmen, a ballet school, a community theater, a radio station, a sound stage, two art galleries, and several programs directed at Niagara Falls' diverse population, including the city's youth and the disabled community. The NACC maintains and operates out of the old Niagara Falls High School, a building on the state and federal historic registry. On a daily basis, the NACC brings people into Niagara Falls and the Pine Avenue Business District to spend time and money, helping drive the local economy while providing art and cultural opportunities.

As many Niagara Falls residents know, the NACC was recently denied $30,000 in funding from the Niagara Falls City Council. The NACC budgeted the funds to help get through the winter months. The proceeds from this event will help to offset that loss.

All donations may be dropped off by March 6 in the NACC office (Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or Saturday and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.), or volunteers will pick up your donation at your location.

For more information, call the NACC office at 716-282-7530, or Kelly Buckley at 716-359-5098, or email [email protected] with any questions.

The NACC is a 501 (C)(3) not-for-profit, and all donations to it are tax deductible.
