Niagara Area Habitat for Humanity will hold two orientation meetings on the second floor of the Niagara Falls Public Library, 1425 Main St. The first will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m., and the second will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. Anyone interested in becoming a homeowner under the Habitat for Humanity program is welcome to attend one of these two gatherings.

The local organization is currently building in the Echota neighborhood of Niagara Falls. At these meetings, staff will distribute applications and guidelines by which potential clients will be able to determine if they are eligible for a Habitat home. Since most of the work on the houses is done with volunteer labor, it normally takes between a year and 18 months to complete the building of a Habitat home.

Building for the next home will start sometime later this year. For more information, contact Barb Skye at 716-297-1475 (after 6 p.m.), or Betsy Diachun at 716-754-2830.
