Niagara University has announced it has partnered with the Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association to present the Niagara Cup annually to the boys ice hockey champions.

As part of this agreement, Niagara University will host the play-in and semifinal playoff games at the Dwyer Ice Arena on the university's campus in Lewiston. The championship game will then be played at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo.

"This venture will allow for our boys to be able to showcase their talents at one of the best college facilities in the east," said Brian Kiszewski, executive director of the MMHSAA. "Our teams will play on the same surface that one of the best college hockey programs calls home."

Schedule for the 2013 MMHSAA ice hockey playoffs at Niagara University:

  • Play-in game - Tuesday, Feb. 12, 9:05-11:05 p.m. - Auxiliary Rink

  • Semifinal game No. 1 - Tuesday, Feb. 12, 6:30-8:30 p.m. - Main Rink

  • Semifinal game No. 2 - Tuesday, Feb. 12, 8:30-10:30 p.m. - Main Rink

In addition to the playoff contests, Niagara will also host the New York State Catholic High School Athletic Association championship game in 2013, and every-other-year moving forward. This year's state championship game will be played on Saturday, March 2, at 7 p.m.
