The Grand Island Historic Preservation Advisory Board is looking to scan pictures to save for future generations. Bring your old pictures of family, friends, buildings, etc., from earlier days on Grand Island, to be saved for posterity. Especially of interest are pictures from before 1970. School pictures, family reunion pictures, local ball teams, fire company photos, boating scenes are all items that help to explain the history of the Island. Pictures of areas of the Island before the West River Parkway and the I-190 were built are especially useful.

The event will take place Saturday, Feb. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grand Island Memorial Library, Bedell Road. Photos will be returned that day.

Call June Crawford at 716-773-4865 for more information, or to set up an appointment for future scanning.
