Black History Month: VA observes African American History Month

VA Western New York Healthcare System will celebrate African American History Month with events throughout February taking place in Freedom Hall, Room 301, 3495 Bailey Ave., Buffalo.

The first event, African American Vendor's Day, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1.

"Taste of Soul" will take place on Friday, Feb. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. African American dishes such as collard greens, sweet potatoes, pig's feet, and much more will be served. All events are open to the public.

A Black Film Festival will be held from noon to 1 p.m., featuring "Red Tails" with part 1 on Feb. 20 and part 2 on Feb. 21. "A Soldier Story" part 1 will be shown on Feb. 27 and part 2 on Feb. 28.
