Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University presents Viewers Choice Awards to three TopSpin artists

Three regional artists whose work was featured in the Castellani Art Museum's exhibition "TopSpin 10: The Ten Year TopSpin Retrospective" were presented with Viewer's Choice Awards at the museum's annual holiday mixer on Friday, Dec. 14.

Over the past five months, visitors to the museum were given a ballot to vote for their favorite works. Nearly 2,000 votes were tabulated.

Sam Qureshi, store manager of Tops Markets on Niagara Falls Boulevard, presented the first-place award, a $500 Tops gift card, to Tom Holt of Buffalo for his 2012 mixed media on canvas work titled "Working Man."

The second-place award, an overnight stay at Piper's Village Inn in Lewiston, was presented to Felice Koenig of Buffalo for her 2012 acrylic on canvas, "Give Me that Old Fashioned Morphine."

Third place, a $100 gift certificate to Casa Antica in Lewiston, went to Ani Hoover of Buffalo for her work titled "Heads," a 2010, ink, acrylic and spray paint on Yupo paper.

"TopSpin 10: The Ten Year TopSpin Retrospective" runs through Feb. 17, 2013, and is accompanied by an anniversary publication. For more information, visit www.castellaniartmuseum.org.
