Boy Scouts from Pack 193, along with residents from Hospice at Jeanne's House, employees at Northgate Health Care Facility and Niagara Hospice, and residents' family members have special holiday plans this year. The glow of the holiday season will illuminate from the courtyard at Hospice at Jeanne's

House - a Northgate and Niagara Hospice Collaboration, as more than 35 Boy Scouts from Pack 193 lead a tree lighting and caroling ceremony at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13.

More than 50 family members of the residents will take part in the event honoring loved ones who are currently living at Jeanne's House and those who have passed away. The tree will be adorned with ornaments featuring each of their names, and guests will be given Jeanne's House ornaments as a memento.

The scouts will lead a variety of songs, including the seasonal favorite "O Christmas Tree," while the Rev. Gary Terrana provides a narrative on the origin of the Christmas tree. After the ceremony, guests will enjoy a cookie and cocoa bar reception.

Hospice at Jeanne's House - Northgate Health Care Facility is located at 7264 Nash Road, North Tonawanda (near the corner of Nash Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard). It is a unique unit designed specifically for residents receiving hospice care in a long-term care setting. The unit is affectionately named "Hospice at Jeanne's House - A Northgate and Niagara Hospice Collaboration" after a beloved Northgate employee who utilized Hospice services herself.

The unit is devoted to meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill residents requiring both 24-hour skilled nursing care and services. For more information, visit www.McGuireGroup.com and www.NiagaraHospice.org.
