Silent auction to feature selection of distinctive items

Tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Premier, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center's annual black tie dinner and entertainment gala.

A highlight of the event will be a silent auction of distinctive and luxury items donated by medical center supporters.

The Premier will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel, 310 Fourth St., Niagara Falls, with three-time Grammy-winning artist Jon Secada appearing as the headline entertainment.

This year's auction is co-chaired by Dr. Richard and Anne Sawicki. Dr. Sawicki is a member of Memorial's medical staff.

"Our silent auction is in its second year and will feature many distinctive and dazzling items, including his and hers Movado watches, pearls, vacation packages - including trips for two to the Kentucky Derby and U.S. Open golf tournament - artwork and Waterford crystal," Dr. Sawicki said.

"In addition to luxury items and unique trips, we also have practical items such as a $1,500 scholarship to Niagara Catholic Junior/Senior High School," Mrs. Sawicki said.

The event will honor nurses from Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and the Schoellkopf Health Center and Dr. Michael Cropp, president and CEO of Independent Health, for their dedication to improving the health of the community. Proceeds will benefit Memorial's cardiac and stroke care services.

"We have already received more than 500 dinner reservations. The Premier is sure be a sellout, so you should purchase your tickets soon," Memorial Vice President Ann Marie Tucker said.

Individual tickets are $225. For information and sponsorship opportunities, call 716-278-4570 or visit http://www.nfmmc.org/ThePremier.
