It's coming into that wintry season again and, before you know it, the roads will be covered with snow.

The Lewiston Police Department would like to give Lewiston residents ample warning of enforcement of the winter no-parking laws. The parking of vehicles on the roadways during this season makes it extremely difficult for the snowplows to clear the streets.

The Village of Lewiston parking ordinance says the parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited on all highways within the Village of Lewiston between 2 and 6 a.m. from Dec. 1 to April 1.

The Town of Lewiston parking ordinance says parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited on all town and county roads, including shoulders of roadways, from Dec. 1 to April 1 (11 p.m. until 6 a.m.).

LPD asks that residents work together so we can have the safest possible roadways to travel on during our snowy season in the next several months. LPD would also like to thank the residents for their anticipated cooperation in this matter.

Any questions or concerns? Contact the Lewiston Police Department at 716-754-8477.
