At approximately 9:20 a.m. Nov. 22, Town of Niagara Police officers were dispatched for a report of a missing 8-year-old male from B Street in Cayuga Village. The parents reported that the juvenile male "went missing" from the residence after last being seen on the front porch.

Due to the age of the juvenile, an extensive search of the area was conducted with the assistance of the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Niagara County Sheriff's K-9 units, New York State Police, Niagara Falls Police Department, U.S. Border Patrol and numerous fire personnel from Niagara Active Hose Volunteer Fire Co. Public notifications were conducted by "A Child is Missing" (telephone calls to area residences) and social media sites.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., the child was located by members of Niagara Active Hose on Grauer Road in the Town of Niagara. The child was uninjured and was apparently looking for a relative, according to police. Grauer Road is approximately four miles from the juvenile's residence.

After being evaluated by EMS personnel, the juvenile was transported home where he was reunited with his family on this Thanksgiving Day.

"I appreciate all the public safety agencies whose coordinated assistance was instrumental to finding the juvenile and reuniting him with his family. I would also like to thank the many local residents who stopped celebrating their holiday and assisted in the search," said Town of Niagara Police Chief H. James Suitor.
