Fundraiser for Amarey Adams
Lewiston No. 2 Volunteer Fire Co. will be the site of the eighth annual benefit in memory of Monica Senese. The event begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, at the firehall, 1705 Saunders Settlement Road.
This year's fundraiser is for 1-year-old Amarey Adams. In his short time on Earth, he's had many health issues. Amarey is legally blind and has brain damage, including septo-optic dysplasia, a cyst on his brain and a displaced pituitary gland.
To help his development, Amarey has seven different therapy sessions each week. This includes physical, occupational, vision and special instruction. Five different doctors see Amarey.
As the sole caretaker for Amarey, his mother, Tina Gominiak, has devoted herself full time to taking care of her son. This includes quitting her job and moving in with her parents.

Monica Senese, a 1995 graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School, died suddenly on Sept. 2, 2000. In 2005, her friends and family came together to honor her memory by giving another person a chance to continue celebrating life as Monica did for 23 years.
Over the past seven years, Monica's friends and family have given time and resources to help families in need through the support of a generous Western New York.
