One Direction to perform live on 'The X Factor' results show Thursday on FOX

Finalists perform live Wednesday, Nov. 7

This week, One Direction - the global sensation that rose to fame on the U.K. version of "The X Factor" - will take the stage to perform two songs, "Live While We're Young" and "Little Things," on "The X Factor's" first live results show of the season, Thursday, Nov. 8 (8 p.m.), on Fox.

"Having come from the U.K. 'X Factor,' we can't wait to perform on the U.S. stage - it's going to be a great night!" said group member Zayn Malik.

"We're really excited to be on the American 'X Factor,' " added fellow member Niall Horan. "It'll be the first time we've performed in front of 'Uncle Si' since we were on the U.K. 'X Factor.' So, hopefully, we'll make him proud."

One Direction - Horan, Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - were discovered on the U.K.'s "The X Factor" in 2010. The band quickly gained a following to become one of the competition's all-time most popular acts, finishing in the final three and garnering a gigantic and loyal fanbase along the way. In March 2012, One Direction's debut album, "Up All Night," made U.S. history, as it was the first time a U.K. group's debut album entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at No. 1. The band has sold more than 12 million records worldwide. On Nov. 13, One Direction will release its sophomore album, "Take Me Home," which includes the No. 1 single, "Live While We're Young."

Globally, artists discovered by "The X Factor" format have sold more than 120 million records worldwide, including 110 No. 1, 270 Top 10 and 501 Top 50 releases. Local versions of "The X Factor" are now commissioned in more than 41 territories and the format has won numerous accolades worldwide, including three BAFTA's, numerous NTA's, as well as the coveted Rose d'Or. The U.S. version of "The X Factor" airs in 166 countries.

On Wednesday, Nov. 7 (8 until 10 p.m.), "The X Factor" heats up as the finalists, with the help of their mentors, take the stage once again. But this time, it will be up to America, as well as the judges, to decide who moves forward in the competition. Immediately after Wednesday's performance show, fans will be able to vote via 1) Verizon Touch Voting on The Xtra Factor App on Verizon Android devices; 2) toll-free calling; 3) text messaging for Verizon Wireless customers; and 4) online atTheXFactorUSA.com. Fans with valid Facebook accounts can also vote atFacebook.com/TheXFactorUSA.

On Thursday, Nov. 8 (8 p.m.), after One Direction's performances, hosts Khloé Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez will reveal the results of America's votes.
