VA Western New York Healthcare System will be holding an information event at the VA Clinic in Niagara Falls, 2201 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.

The event will offer a chance for veterans to see VA health care available in their own community. Blood pressure screening and finger glucose testing, and women's health information will be offered. In addition, flu vaccines will be offered at no cost to veterans enrolled in VA health care. Veterans identification cards will be taken for veterans that meet the eligibility requirements for VA health care.

Veterans are encouraged to attend to learn more about benefits they may have coming to them as the Department of Veterans Affairs and other counselors will be on-hand and available to answer questions. Veterans need to bring their discharge papers along with their financial information from 2011 for accurate benefits counseling. VA offers a wealth of health care options, to include benefits for returning Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn and women's health and My HealtheVet, an online personal secure health record.
