The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, welcomes Shaolin Warriors on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, located at the Center for the Arts, North Campus.

Returning by popular demand and performed by disciples of the Shaolin schools in China, the Shaolin Warriors are admired across the globe for their exemplary discipline and ferocious martial arts prowess. These masters of Kung Fu have trained from a very young age in both mental and physical disciplines and routinely test the limits of the human body by performing extraordinary feats with extreme precision.

This production showcases the intricate technique, astounding imagery, and lightning quick movement of Shaolin Kung Fu, which will amaze audiences of all ages. Throughout the performance, a man chops vegetables on his stomach with a real cleaver, another monk's abdominals withstand a pounding from a log-battering ram, and two men with a bed of nails between each get a board broken over them with a mallet. They all end up unscathed.

The Shaolin Warriors even encourage audience participation - adults are brought on stage to try to pry a silver bowl out of the grip of a monk's abs and children in the audience are often selected to take part in a quick Kung Fu lesson.

Tickets for Shaolin Warriors are $26.50 (general) and $16.50 (students and children). Visit the center box office (weekdays) and tickets.com. To charge tickets, call 1-888-223-6000. For more information, call 716-645-2787 or visit www.ubcfa.org.
