St. Stephen Church and the Respect Life Group invite Islanders to a "Prayer for Our Nation" on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in the main church, located at 2100 Baseline Road. All are welcome, regardless of religious affiliation.
In recalling Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, those gathered will pray for all the nation's needs, peace within the nation and among all nations, for those suffering due to religious persecution, the marginalized, the oppressed, the imprisoned, and people suffering from addiction, depression, and mental, emotional and physical challenges.
Participants will ask God for strength for the nation to assist people in need and to strengthen individuals to accept their challenges with grace.
