Unshackle Upstate backs lawmaker for low-tax, pro-jobs record

Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-I-Lewiston, has announced that he has won the endorsement of the non-partisan, pro-growth group Unshackle Upstate.

"As your assemblyman, my top priority has been and will continue to be creating an environment that promotes economic growth and grows jobs," Ceretto said. "Since joining the New York State Assembly in 2010, I have worked with Governor Cuomo and lawmakers from both sides to improve New York's business climate and support pro-jobs initiatives such as the Power Proceeds Allocation Act and ReCharge NY.

"I have also worked with Empire State Development's legal team to expand USA Niagara Development Corporation's economic footprint, paving the way for expansion efforts at the Aquarium of Niagara; led the effort to expand the Niagara Falls International Airport; and brought private and public stakeholders together to transform the Lehigh Valley Rail Yard into a regional transportation hub.

"I look forward to building on these accomplishments as well as continuing the fight to reduce the Empire State's high taxes and burdensome regulations in order to make Western New York a more affordable place to own a business and create jobs."

Brian Sampson, executive director of Unshackle Upstate, said the legislative candidates endorsed by his organization will help unlock New York's true economic potential.

"In 2010, people across the state voted for a stronger economy and economic certainty for families and businesses. Working together, we've made great strides toward these goals, but New York state's comeback is far from complete," he said. "The 30 candidates that we've endorsed are committed to improving New York's business climate and easing the burden on taxpayers. These men and women have earned the opportunity to go to Albany and serve their constituents."
