Lew-Port Youth Football recaps

Highlights of recent games in Lew-Port Youth Football include the following:

•In the 100-pound class, the Lew-Port Rams defeated Clarence Silver by a score of 12-6.

Drew Martin played well on both sides of the ball with six tackles and 87 yards rushing on 12 carries including a 26-yard touchdown run and a 15-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Nick DiCarlo.

Zac Medecigo had seven tackles on the day while Jalen Duff and Mark Stoneham each had five. Jaden Sims scored the lone touchdown for Clarence.

•In the 120-pound class, the Lew-Port Chargers defeated the Clarence Bulldogs, 35-13.

Ian Evans led the Chargers offense, rushing for more than 130 yards, scoring two touchdowns, an interception and a two-point conversion. Cooper Krawczyk added a touchdown with a QB sneak and threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Zach Clayborne, who also had a two-point pass conversion and six tackles on defense. Cole Murdoch had the other touchdown with a 45-yard run, and added on 10 tackles on defense.

Danny Gambino caused a fumble and had an interception that he returned 20 yards, and Gino Fontanarosa recovered a Lew-Port kickoff deep in Clarence territory and added seven tackles. Brooke Martin also played excellent on defense with seven tackles.

Aaron Bartalato scored two touchdowns for Clarence.

•In the 145-pound class, the Grand Island Vikings defeated the Lew-Port Spartans 55-6.

The Vikings got out to an early lead and never looked back beating the Spartans 55-6. Troy Brady scored four touchdowns and kicked a field goal for the Vikings while Alex Jackson and Nick Anzalone each scored two touchdowns.

Michael Allender scored the lone touchdown for the Spartans and added four tackles on defense. Cody Fouts also had four tackles for the Spartans.
