From Oct. 18 to 22, Niagara University Theatre will proudly launch its new season with "The Rimers of Eldritch." Directed by Steven Braddock, director of Niagara University Theatre, this drama was an Off-Broadway success for its playwright, the late Lanford Wilson, one of the most distinguished American playwrights of the 20th century.

On the surface, "The Rimers of Eldritch" is a mystery ... but beneath its skin, it is a probing look at the rhythms of Midwestern American life, compellingly rich, dark and lyrical. But be warned: This is not Norman Rockwell's America. The drama contains mature subject matter and is not recommended for children.

"The Rimers of Eldritch" will be on stage in the Leary Theatre within the Elizabeth Ann Clune Center for Theatre, Clet Hall, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, and Monday, Oct. 22, and at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, and Saturday, Oct. 20, with 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday, Oct. 20, and Sunday, Oct. 21 (with post-show discussion).

Cast members include: Brianna Lanoye of West Seneca (Wilma Atkins); Amy Mings (Evelyn Jackson), Joshua Ranallo (Peck Johnson), Glenna Rankin (Patsy Johnson) and Grace Turner (Martha Truit), all of Buffalo; Megan Kemple of Fort Drum (Nelly Windrod); Richard Cole of Niagara Falls, Ontario (Judge-Preacher); Haley Keeley of Pendleton (Mary Windrod); Patrick J. Tighe of Hamburg (Robert Conklin); Richard Vogt of Pavilion (Trucker); Alissa Sumerano of Hurley (Cora Groves); Steven Foote of Ellicott City, Md. (Walter); Josephine Lazusky of Cochranton, Pa. (Eva Jackson); Jeff Burruano of North Tonawanda (Josh Jackson); Fabio H. Del Carlo of Harrison, N.J. (Skelly Mannor); Kendyl Litwiller of Naples, N.Y. (Mavis Johnson); and Leacel Hillenbrand of Oneida (Lena Truit).

Also theater design/technology alumna Brittany Metz of Albion is the costume designer, while stage manager is senior Steph Schmidt of Rochester, and assistant stage manager is junior Saige Woods of Buffalo.

Set design is by David Dwyer. Lighting design is by Patty Rihn and sound design is by Glenn Bernardis.
