Aquarium's 'Winds, Waves & Wines' fundraiser returns Sept. 20

NCCC culinary students show off their wares at last year's "Winds, Waves & Wines."

M&T Bank will once again be the grand marquee sponsor for the Aquarium of Niagara's annual "Winds, Waves & Wines" celebration of the area's grape harvest. "WWW III" will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls.

Participating wineries include Niagara Landing, Arrowhead Spring Vineyards, A Gust of Sun Winery, Black Willow, Chateau Niagara, 21 Brix Winery, Dr. Frank's Winery, Eveningside Vineyards, Heron Hill Winery, Johnson Estate Winery, Merritt Estate Winery, Noble Winery, Standing Stone Wines, Vetter Vineyards and Willow Creek Vineyard.

Caterers/restaurants include Brodo, Niagara County Community College Culinary program, Starbucks Coffee/Niagara Falls, Just Say Cheesecake, Quality Hotels & Suites and The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls, Sheraton at the Falls, Joe's Crab Shack, Templeton Landing and Niagara Honeymoon Sweets.

Music will be provided by the Rod Nickson Project, sponsored by Turner Construction. DeeJay Pat Proctor of Premier Sound will play music in the courtyard. A silent auction with great prizes also is planned.

Free parking will be available at the Aquarium of Niagara lot, between Third and Whirlpool streets. Shuttle service, provided by the Niagara State Park Trolley, will run from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m. Parking also is available on city streets and in nearby lots.

The popular Aquarium of Niagara fundraiser will once again feature Aaron Mentkowski of WKBW Channel 7 as celebrity host.

Prizes for the silent auction have been donated by Whitenight's Jewelers, Art Effects Glass, Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eye Care, WELCOME magazine and many more. Media sponsors are Greater Niagara Newspapers and Niagara Frontier Publications (The Sentinel, The Tribune, The Dispatch and PennySaver.)

Tickets for "WWW XIII" are $55 each or $100 for a couple. They can be purchased in advance at the Aquarium of Niagara or at the door that night. Members are required to pay for fundraisers.
