Brendan McIntyre was recently named director of development for the Niagara Hospice Alliance Inc. McIntyre earned a Juris Doctor degree from Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, Va. Most recently, he was employed as director of development at Citizens United in Washington, D.C.

"Brendan is a very welcome addition to the Niagara Hospice Alliance," said John Lomeo, president and CEO of The HomeCare Partners, of which the Niagara Hospice Alliance is an affiliate. "His fundraising and planned giving experience will help move Niagara Hospice forward as we navigate the challenges of health care and an uncertain economy."

McIntyre is a native of Western New York and recently returned to the area. He is a graduate of Canisius College and resides in North Tonawanda with his wife, Katie, and daughter, Quinn Eva Kay.

The Niagara Hospice Alliance Inc. was established to support the charitable mission of Niagara Hospice and its affiliates with the goal of providing resources to help ensure that all individuals in its service area needing hospice and palliative care receive it. The alliance provides support for individuals who are uninsured or under-insured and also raises funds to develop new services and programs that help keep the grantee agencies innovative and responsive to community needs.

Niagara Hospice provides end-of-life comfort, care and support to Niagara County individuals and families faced with terminal illness. No one is ever denied Hospice care due to inability to pay.
