State Assembly candidate Robert M. Restaino was joined Aug. 17 by the Western New York congressional delegation at a campaign rally at the Town of Niagara Active Hose Volunteer Fire Co. to outline his platform of responsible economic development and common sense reform of New York's Medicaid and education systems.

Restaino's message brought together special guests reps. Louise Slaughter, NY-28, Brian Higgins, NY-27, and Kathy Hochul, NY-26, marking the first time in recent memory that three members of Congress have shared a stage to support an Assembly candidate in Western New York.

Restaino said, "I greatly appreciate the support of Representatives Slaughter, Higgins, and Hochul, and look forward to working with these distinguished members of Congress to make New York state a better place for working families."

Higgins said, "I'm proud to support Bob's efforts. The Restaino family has a long history of effective public service in Niagara Falls and Western New York, and I look forward to Bob continuing that tradition as a member of the State Assembly."

Restaino is running in the newly created 145th Assembly District, which includes the City of Niagara Falls, the Town of Lewiston, the Town of Wheatfield, the Town of Niagara, the Town of Cambria, the Town of Grand Island, and parts of the City of North Tonawanda. Restaino runs a law practice in Niagara Falls and currently serves on the Niagara Falls School Board.

Before beginning his run for the State Assembly, he identified more than $3 million in Medicaid fraud as special assistant to the Medicaid inspector general in Niagara County.
