The annual event gives the staff a chance to be scary or funny, or both, while on the job. Youngsters, too, can wear costumes; "trick-or-treat" at the Aquarium of Niagara's door in a safe environment; have fun and win prizes. Each child will receive a "treat bag."
There will be a few surprises and special sea lion shows. Shows are planned at 4:30 and 6 p.m. The first will feature the California sea lions in an assortment of Halloween themes and music. The second will parody box office hit movies.
Children in sea creature or marine-related costumes will be admitted free. All others, including adults, will be $5; children 2 and under and Aquarium of Niagara members are always free. There will be prizes for best child's costume and all kids will make a craft to take home.
A scavenger hunt, with small pumpkins hidden in various exhibits, also will be a part of the Halloween event. Children must be accompanied by an adult to be admitted.
