'Big R': Ransomville Speedway releases 2023 schedule

The Ransomville Speedway has officially released the 2023 schedule of events. From fan favorites to national and regional touring series, “The Big R” is the place to be on Friday nights.

A full Friday night race card features the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, Investors Service DIRTcar Sportsman, KiPo Motors Street Stocks, Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks, and the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman. 

The season kicks off Friday, April 28, for “Test, Tune, and Time.” The 2023 season lid-lifter will take place Friday, May 5, featuring a $500-to-win race for the Street Stocks. A full card of racing will take place May 12. Friday, May 19 will see the Sportsman Super DIRTcar Series come to town for the Chris Moore Memorial. May 25 will feature the 358 Modifieds in a $2,000-to-win event, plus bike races. 

Friday, June 2, will be kids rides plus the Dick Wilkinson Memorial for the Mini Stocks. June 9 will be the annual visit from the Empire Super Sprints to participate in the Ron Lux Memorial. The ESS will celebrate its 40thanniversary in 2023. June 16 is the annual “Labor Night at the Races” featuring kids power wheel races. June 22 will be the popular “Autograph Night” and June 30 will be the kids foot races, plus fireworks to celebrate the holiday weekend. 

Friday, July 7, will be the return of the Tezos All-Star Circuit of Champions to Ransomville. Parker Price-Miller won the all-star event last season. The following week, July 14 will be the Mackenzie Kulesza Memorial night, plus the return of the kids poster contest. Friday, July 21, will be the inaugural visit by the Empire Street Stock Series, plus the running of the Blake Chaffee Memorial for the Mini Stocks, and kids rides. July 28 will be the annual “Halloween in July” night. 

The month of August will see vintage cars come to town Aug. 4 as part of Sean Letts Memorial night. Aug. 11 will be the John Susice Memorial for the Street Stocks, plus the return of the street stock pit crew contest. Friday, Aug. 18, will see the anticipated return of the Southern Ontario Sprints to the “Big R.” Tuesday, Aug. 22, will be the 38th running of the Summer Nationals for the Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series, plus the third running of the Mike Bonesky Memorial for the Sportsman Super DIRTcar Series. Wednesday, Aug. 23, will be utilized as a rain date if needed for the Aug. 22 event. There will be no racing on Aug. 25. Aug. 26 will be the Versus Monster Truck event, plus fireworks. 

Sept. 1 will be season championship night for DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Sportsman plus “Team Spirit Night”! Fans are encouraged to decorate their section of the grandstands to show their spirit to their favorite driver. Sept. 8 will be the Mateo Hope Memorial for the Street Stocks. Sept. 15 will see the annual Sportsman/Novice Shootout. Other divisions for that night will be announced at a later date. 

Other events coming to Ransomville that are still being scheduled will be a pair of Triple T Towing demolition derbies. Admission prices and times will be released over the coming weeks, and will be posted on www.ransomvillespeedway.com
