Geraldine (Gerry) Santa Palestine Elie, age 90, died peacefully on Oct. 18, 2022, in her home in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Formerly a resident of Grand Island, she was active on the St. Stephen's Bereavement Committee and a long-time volunteer at Shea's Theater and Kleinhans Music Hall. She also loved to read and was a talented painter.
Gerry is survived by her five children: Kathleen Elie-Goldman and her husband, Daniel; John A. Elie and his wife, Barbara; Mary Elie-Laman and her husband, Mark; Geraldine T. Elie-Carroll and her husband, Thomas; and Timothy A. Elie and his wife, Theresa.
She was affectionately called "GG" by her 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial Mass will take place in the spring at St. Stephen's R.C. Church on Grand Island. Details to come at a later date.
