Obituary: Janet Susan Webb (nee Quint)

Nov. 18, 1942 – Oct. 11, 2022

Janet Susan Webb (nee Quint) – our beloved mom – went home to our Lord on Oct. 11, 2022, to join the love of her life, her husband, Earl William Webb, now both restored in perfect peace.

She was known for her kindness, compassion, smile, sense of humor and total devotion to her family, especially her children, her friends, her cats and wildlife. Mom was beautiful inside and out, in every meaningful way. She grew up in a storybook home raised by two loving parents of deep and abiding faith: Hazel Alta (nee Comstock) and Harry Deacon Quint, with an older sister, Gayle, and younger brother, Harry. Her childhood was filled with love, a relationship with our Lord, summers at the Presbyterian camp in Allegany State Park, Camp Go-Ha-Do-Goh, and family.

As an adult, her faith grew and was the strength that she relied upon. 1 John 4:19 states, "We love because he first loved us." And she loved us well!

Janet also served briefly in the Navy, was a self-taught wildlife rehabber, loved on kitties at Ten Lives, volunteered in too many places to list, taught Sunday school, served her church, was the den leader for her son's Boy Scouts, was an active “Baton Mom” when her girls twirled, and "Mom Webb" for Aries Triangle girls and Isle DeMolay boys. She stayed active with the Masonic family her entire life.

She was an exceptionally loving and giving person who never met a stranger. She is leaving behind four heartbroken children and her two grandsons who lit up her world with smiles and hugs and laughter: Sandra Jean (Robert), Margaret Susan, Elizabeth Gayle (Rani) and grandsons Benjamin and William, Earl William III; her siblings, in-laws, cousins, dear lifelong friends, her church family and her Masonic family and friends. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, State of New York, Betsy Ross-Levant Chapter No. 695, and life member of the Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial VFW Post No. 9249, named posthumously for her husband's favorite cousin. Janet believed in organ and tissue donation, and her family lovingly gave that gift.
