Since April 1 kick-off of market’s special Easter schedule, more than 9,000 visitors have stopped in for holiday foods, gifts & entertainment – and to meet Easter Bunny

City of Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown recently announced the lineup of Easter vendors and activities are attracting big crowds at the historic Broadway Market. From April 1-6, the market welcomed more than 9,000 visitors – and the busiest days of the Easter season are yet to come.

“The Broadway Market is seeing its largest crowds since Easter 2019 as Buffalo and Western New York shoppers, especially families, are continuing their holiday traditions and making new memories,” Brown said. “After two years of COVID restrictions, it’s exciting to welcome veteran and new Broadway Market shoppers back to celebrate the Easter holiday.”

Market Director Kathleen Peterson said the market’s 27 year-round merchants and the 37 seasonal sellers are reporting strong sales.

“Everybody is smiling, because they are so happy to see everybody coming back. Many are saying their sales are higher than prepandemic, and they are increasing the amount of product to meet demand,” Peterson said.

Traditionally, the busiest days of the market’s Easter season are from Palm Sunday through Holy Saturday.

“Based on the crowds we’re already seeing, I’m telling people to get here early in the day to make sure they get all their Easter favorites,” Peterson added.

The Broadway Market is open every day through Saturday, April 16, with the following extended hours:

  • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, April 9
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 10
  • 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, April 11, through Wednesday, April 13
  • 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, April 14, and Friday, April 15
  • 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 16

The market will be closed Easter Sunday.

In addition to offering traditional Easter foods, baked goods and butter lambs, shoppers will find a diverse mix of gift, clothing, and wine and specialty food vendors.

The Easter Bunny will be on hand to greet marketgoers all day, every day, through April 16. Photos with the bunny are $10.

There is also live music every day on the market’s main stage from noon to 3 p.m. The lineup for this weekend is:

  • Friday, April 8 – Carol McLaughlin Quartet Saturday
  • April 9 – Buffalo Touch
  • Sunday, April 10 – Special Delivery

On Friday, April 8, the guest chef is Pinoy Boi, with Filipino specialties. Kitchen @ The Market hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
