The Erie County Agricultural Society is looking forward to being able to provide enthusiastic fairgoers some sweet deals.

On Tuesday, it reported the “coveted” 12-day pass will make its return for the 2022 Erie County Fair after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. These passes are $45 and will go on sale beginning at 9 a.m. Feb. 8, online only at www.ECFair.org. The sale will continue until the limited supply is gone. Passes allow for one gate admission per day of the fair. There is a limit of four passes per household. A $5 shipping and handling fee will be added to each order.

The 182nd edition of the Erie County Fair is slated to run from Aug. 10-21. Feb. 8 signifies just 182 days out from the “Best 12 Days of Summer.”

Admission prices for those 13 and older will be $13.50 online or $15 at the gate with a credit card. Youth ages 12 and under will be admitted free every day. Firefighters and auxiliary members will be free on Friday, Aug. 12, with proper ID. Veterans, auxiliary members and active military will be free on Sunday, Aug. 14, with proper ID. For a touchless experience, gate admission will be available online (later this year) and at the fair entrance gates with a credit card payment. There will be no charge for parking in the lots attached to the fairgrounds.

For the passionate fairgoer looking for ways to further support agriculture and its education, there is the option of becoming a member of the Erie County Agricultural Society, the organization responsible for hosting the Erie County Fair and various events and activities throughout the year. For those 18 years or older, the membership includes one admission every day for the 2022 fair, early access to purchase tickets to grandstand events before they go on sale to the public, member newsletters, an invitation to the annual meeting, plus an invitation to the Winter Ball Scholarship Fundraiser. Membership is $75 per person. Visit www.ECFair.org to apply.

“These opportunities offer up to 50% in savings off of the individual ticket price to our guests,” said Jessica Underberg, CEO/fair manager. “Both options offer the opportunity for folks to come to the fair every day. Since kids 12 and under are free at the fair, the 12-day pass is open to anyone 13 years and older; however, only a limited quantity will be sold. Becoming a member of the Erie County Agricultural Society is open to individuals 18 years and older, gets you into the fair everyday among other perks, and there is no limit on the number of members.”

The Erie County Agricultural Society is a private not-for-profit membership organization. Established in 1819, ECAS is the oldest civic organization in Western New York. It has a mission to preserve and enhance, by educational endeavors, the agricultural and historical legacy of New York.
