Torn Space Theater will present “Intersection/Prototype, a new site-specific installation performance designed for the color field open space of the recreated “Niagara 1979” on the grounds of Artpark in Lewiston, at 8 p.m. June 18 and 20.

Torn Space will collaborate with a local Bengali cricket team to stage a live cricket match at dusk. Designed soundscape with prerecorded text and the setting sun will layer over the game, altering the context and positioning the game within a designed performance environment. As the game progresses and night arrives, selected automobiles will enter into a choreographed routine highlighting the ceremonial color field of the recreated “Niagara 1979,” where headlights and machines engage with the surrounding landscape.

Tickets are $15, available at https://www.universe.com/events/intersection-prototype-tickets-S78QG9. For more information, visit www.artpark.net.

This performance will then be restaged on an open city lot behind Torn Space for a July 16-18 show run.

“Intersection/Prototype” is a part of the sixth annual “Torn Space RESPONSE: Performance Series.” This performance series is made possible through lead funding from Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy funds, the Cullen Foundation, the Regional Economic Development Council, the Creative Arts Initiative of the University at Buffalo, the New York State Council on the Arts, Erie County, Rich Family Foundation, the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation and M&T Bank.
