Kohl’s Cares grant to FeedMore WNY part of $5 million in gifts from Kohl’s to nonprofits nationwide

FeedMore WNY recently received a $100,000 grant from Kohl’s to help the hunger-relief nonprofit continue its COVID-19 response efforts and meet the increased demand for food assistance throughout Western New York as a result of the pandemic.

“We are incredibly grateful to Kohl’s for this generous grant, which will allow us to provide more nutritious food to hungry children, families, veterans and older adults throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties,” said Tara A. Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY. “FeedMore WNY has been working tirelessly to meet the overwhelming need in the community. We already have surpassed the number of meals we provided throughout the entirety of 2019, and we are on track to distribute nearly 16 million meals by the end of 2020 – approximately 4 million more meals than last year. The generosity of Kohl’s will enable FeedMore WNY to continue our mission of providing dignity, hope and a brighter future to our Western New York neighbors in need.”

Kohl’s grant to FeedMore WNY was made through Kohl’s “A Community with Heart.” Through this program, Kohl’s will donate $5 million in grants to selected nonprofit organizations across the country, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to family health and wellness. Kohl’s store teams and leaders across the country identified and nominated nonprofit recipients from 49 states that are near and dear to their hearts. The full list of selected grant recipients is available at Corporate.Kohls.com.

The donations are made possible through Kohl’s philanthropic merchandise program, Kohl’s Cares, which sells children’s books and toys and donates 100% of the net profit to charitable organizations across the country that improve the health and wellness of families.
