The Giving Project has teamed up with Buffalo Black Achievers to raise funds and awareness for the Black Achiever Scholarship Fund, established at the recommendation of Dr. Catherine Collins, who currently serves as the chairperson of Buffalo Black Achievers. The Black Quotes Campaign features a series of T-shirts from prominent black leaders with inspirational quotes on work ethic.

Joe Castle, founder of The Giving Project, said he is excited to promote Buffalo Black Achievers and its mission to recognize and celebrate the achievements of Buffalo’s African American community.

“We wanted a fun way to allow the Western New York community to support a very important organization promoting the successes of our African American community,” Castle said. “Choose from our collection of T-shirts with inspirational quotes from MLK, Maya Angelou, Beyoncé and other inspirational Black leaders.”

With the ongoing support and commitment from the Uniland Development Co. and Belmont Management Co., Buffalo Black Achievers has awarded over $25,000 in scholarships to Western New York high school students this past decade. The scholarships are presented to recipients at the commencement ceremony during the following graduating year.

Buffalo Black Achievers believes in publicly recognizing the scholastic achievements of the high school students to empower other young people to strive for excellence. Two high schools are invited to attend the awards banquet to celebrate the significant contributions of the Black Achievers award recipients. Many of the scholarship recipients have gone on to attend colleges and universities throughout the U.S.

“Change your thoughts, change your world,” said Herbert L. Bellamy Jr., CEO of Buffalo Black Achievers.
