Public is invited to take an online survey or attend drop-in sessions on March 3

USA Niagara Development Corp. (USAN) is seeking the public’s input and collecting information to determine what additional developments might be possible in the continued revitalization of Downtown Niagara Falls.

USAN recently acquired seven buildings and more than eight acres of vacant land in downtown as part of a strategic land acquisition program funded through the second phase of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s Buffalo Billion.

The public is encouraged to share their thoughts about potential uses for the newly acquired sites and the future of downtown Niagara Falls via a short online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/14301 or at two drop-in sessions scheduled for Tuesday, March 3.

“USAN is eager to bring new development to downtown Niagara Falls that will enhance the tourism industry and benefit those who live and work in Niagara Falls,” USAN President Anthony Vilardo said. “With the new properties acquired by Gov. Cuomo’s strategic land acquisition program in our downtown development toolkit, our work will be done in a thoughtful and strategic manner to ensure future projects have a lasting positive impact on downtown, the surrounding city and the region. Each new development is intended to build on the success of the last to create new activity in downtown Niagara Falls.”

The two drop-in sessions scheduled for Tuesday include:

•9-10:30 a.m. at the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, 1201 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls

•11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Power City Eatery, 444 3rd St., Niagara Falls

USAN is working with other government agencies and private sector partners to redevelop these sites. Additionally, USAN has hired experts to better understand current and future market dynamics, explore the potential for new developments and gather information from local stakeholders.

Since 2001, USAN has focused on improving the conditions in downtown through investment in public infrastructure, hotel development and grant programs. To learn more about the public input project, contact Paul Ray, senior project manager with USAN, at [email protected].

USAN, a subsidiary of Empire State Development, is solely dedicated to the support and promotion of economic development initiatives in Niagara Falls by leveraging private investment and encouraging growth and renewal of the tourism industry in the City of Niagara Falls.
