Nothing brightens the dull days of winter like a troupe of tap-dancing penguins! “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” tells the warm-hearted tale of Mr. Popper, a man who dreams of becoming an Antarctic explorer. When he receives a gift of a real live penguin, the Antarctic comes to his house and he soon has an entire family of little penguins! How will he support his new family? Join TOY this holiday season to find out in this exuberant musical treat.

“Mr. Popper’s Penguins” is directed by Jennifer Toohey and choreographed by Kelly Cammarata. The cast includes Bobby Cooke, Melissa Levin, Bobby MacDonnell, Heather Reed, Christine Seshie and Angelo Heimowitz. The musicians are Joe Isgar, Brian DeJesus and Ryan Campbell.

The 2019-20 season marks TOY’s 48th year of providing theater for youth and families.

Artistic Director Meg Quinn said, "Young people find the world to be fascinating, scary, confusing and hilarious! We tell stories that comfort and empower them as they grow and learn about themselves and the world around them."

The Theatre of Youth Company’s mission is to stimulate the imagination, nurture the creative spirit and enhance the education of young people by engaging them in relevant, child-centered and professionally produced live theater programs. TOY believes meaningful childhood experiences in the theater develop confidence in creative thinking skills, cultivate empathy and establish a life-long connection to the theater.
