Girl Scouts of Western New York Summer Camp registration is now open for all girls in grades K-12. Summer camp is a way for girls to explore leadership, build skills, and develop a deep appreciation for nature. Whether for a day, a week, or longer, Girl Scout camp gives girls an opportunity to grow, explore, and have fun in an all-girl environment under the guidance of caring, trained adults.

Through funding by the United Way, girls can live the #GirlScoutCampLife at Girl Scout Day and resident camps that offer girls a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, white water rafting, horseback riding, scuba diving, robotics and brand-new programs such as introductory wilderness survival, archery/bow-crafting, traditional fire-making and fire safety, while earning badges such as eco trekker, Leave No Trace and outdoor adventurer.

Girl Scouts’ Summer Camp experience gives girls the opportunity to not only have fun, but also learn from outdoor experts, challenge themselves, work as a team, and become empowered to reach their full potential, over a week packed with adventure. Camp is a place for girls to meet and make new friends, grow, become independent, explore skills, and share all the joys of summer with others.

GSWNY offers Day Camp at Camp Piperwood in Fairport, and Resident Camp at Camp Seven Hills in Holland and Camp Timbercrest in Randolph, with transportation for certain programs.

At Camp Seven Hills, nearly three quarters of girls’ parents said their girl improved an existing skill, while 95 percent of girls’ parents said they would send their girl to Girl Scout Camp again.

“My daughter loved her camp experience. She raved about how much she loved her counselors, and wants to go back next year,” Camp Seven Hills parent testimonial.

For busy parents, before and after care is an option, and transportation is available for day camp. GSWNY also offers financial aid opportunities. More information on GSWNY Summer Camp, including a list of all the available camp programs and details regarding the online or paper registration process, is available at www.gswny.org.
