VIP Food Service Program decorates cookies for troops

Students in Lisa Cook’s VIP Food Service Program at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center recently helped in an effort to make the holidays brighter for our troops.

A student’s mother, Mrs. Filicetti, told Miss Cook how she and some of her neighborhood friends get together every year and make cutout cookies to send overseas to military personnel.  Filicetti asked Cook if her students would be interested in helping them decorate them and Cook and her class said they would love the chance to help out.

“I jumped on the opportunity to give back to the troops,” said Cook. “Together we all decorated the cookies to be sent out. I am hoping this can become an annual thing each holiday season. Giving back is a great feeling especially when it deals with the men and woman who serve our country.”
