The Western New York Independent Living Family of Agencies, with support from a number of community agencies, is holding its fourth biannual Summit on Aging and Independence, with expert speakers conducting workshops in 16 different areas. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Adam's Mark Hotel, 120 Church St., Buffalo.

The keynote speakers during the lunch will be: Sandy Markwood, CEO of the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging; and Greg Olsen, director of the New York State Office for the Aging.
Participants will be asked to select a workshop in each of the four hour and one-quarter sessions, to give the organizers an idea of how many to expect in each, but they can change their minds upon arrival.
