The Hospice and Palliative Care Group, Niagara Hospice, Kalos Health and Liberty Home Care scholarship committee awarded nine $1,000 scholarships to employee children in recognition of their academic achievements and ability to make a difference in the community.
The 2018 Making a Difference Scholarships were awarded to Jared Carney, Cole Evans, Matthew O'Donnell, Olivia Rizzo, Jacob Rizzo, Jordan Veihdeffer and Luke Werth.
The Hallet B. Addoms Engineering Scholarship was awarded to John J. Carney III and Lorna LiPuma. The scholarship is given in memory of Hallet B. Addoms, a chemical engineering graduate of Yale University. Addoms was a self-supporting student, dedicated to his goal of making a difference in the world. This award is given to students studying the field of engineering in the hope of encouraging them to pursue meaningful careers in engineering.
"We are excited for our staff and thrilled to assist the awardees in the fulfillment of their dreams focused on making a better tomorrow," President and CEO John Lomeo said.
The Making a Difference and Hallet B. Addoms Engineering Scholarships are available to children of employees who exemplify the importance of making the community a better place by assisting with their academic goals. Applicants are required to submit a comprehensive application for the committee's review.
