Go Hard Gains, a new strength training group in the Niagara County area, is hosting a 7-on-7 flag football tournament to raise funds for two scholarships to be given to local seniors in the area. The "Go Hard Dedication" scholarships are given to student athletes who show great dedication to their craft on and off the field and have acted like leaders in their community.
The tournament is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 12, with a time and location to be determined. Teams for youth (fifth-eighth grade), and high school students costs $5 per player, while adults cost $10 per player or $50 for a team.
For the youth, team and individual trophies will be handed out; for high school, a team trophy and special prizes will be awarded; and for adults, there will be a cash prize and a team trophy.
GH Gains representatives Amir Myles and Quran Brewer said the group is also looking for local high school coaches in the area to encourage their athletes to compete in the tournament, as well as their training sessions for the next four Mondays. Myles said the training sessions "will enhance kids style of play skill."
Those interested in signing up can contact Myles at 251-9629 or email at [email protected]. Also, one can reach GH Gains on Facebook or Instagram.
