Memorial selects three students for junior volunteer scholarships

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has awarded 2017 junior volunteer scholarships to Perya Bhagchandani, Gianna Teixeira and Tahir Cook. The scholarships are funded by the Medical Center Foundation and auxiliary.
Bhagchandani, a 2017 graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School, is majoring in neuroscience at the University of Rochester. She was a junior volunteer for three years and logged 153 hours of service.
Teixeira, also a 2017 Niagara-Wheatfield graduate, is a liberal arts major at Niagara County Community College. She compiled 170 service hours over four years, volunteering in the Schoellkopf Health Center activities department.
Cook, a 2017 graduate of Niagara Falls High School, volunteered 126 hours over four years at Memorial. He is majoring in physics and biomedical engineering at the University at Buffalo.
Junior volunteer scholarships have been awarded annually since 1999 to graduating high school seniors who have volunteered at least two years and 100 hours at the Medical Center or its Schoellkopf Health Center.
